Synopsis: This is an unabridged recording of (title|Henrietta Who?|ASIN=0783890036).

Henrietta Jenkins's studies at university are interrupted by a tragic news. But upon coming home the death of her mother in a traffic accident turns out to be the start of chaos. First, it appears that in truth her widowed mother was not actually Henrietta's biological mother. Her home is burgled and all documents related to Henrietta's identity are stolen. The man Henrietta thought was her father apparently never existed.

Inspector Sloane, who starts off investigating the original accident is now faced with the question of establishing Henrietta's identity, and finding out why it was so crucial to hide it.

Full Review: This is a pleasant mystery, fairly short, and concentrating on the twists and turns of the investigation of Henrietta's identity—the question that seems linked to the cause of the mother's death. Along the way, there are lots of logical, and some intuitive steps in the investigation. While Sloane takes most of the actions, Henrietta herself is shown with a pleasant mixture of determination and confusion, courage and fear, as she too, tries to uncover the mystery.

The conclusion comes very lightly telegraphed. Well-paced, with well drawn main characters and lightly but skillfully described elements of English country life and the characters there, this is a satisfying and light-weight mystery.

Overall: 6; Plot: 5.5; Characters: 6; Style: 6; World-building: 5.5; Originality: 6;
