Pleasantly twisty and with solid and enjoyable characters, the novel is occasionally slowed by melodrama.

Synopsis: Alexandra Cooper is a young, successful prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney's office. Her day starts early when the Martha Vinyard's police try to discover her next-of-kin. Apparently, a woman was shot driving Alex's car, and the police mistook the identity.
While not her jurisdiction, Alex is soon involved in the investigation: as a witness and a friend of the murdered woman.
Full Review: The novel introduces a set of likable characters, and a good, interesting investigation. The coincidences are sometimes implausible, but the fast pace keeps the reader's attention.
The likable characters, and the interplay between them is more fun then the investigation, and both are enough to satisfy the reader and to look with interest for other books in the series.
